GeoAlchemy

Elevation and terrain line of sight, from the NASA SRTM data set.

An HTTP API at api.geoalchemy.com. It will tell you the height of a point on the earth, or whether one point can see another over the terrain between them — earth curvature and atmospheric refraction included.

It is not documented for public use yet. If you want access, say hello on GitHub.
